Finalists Named In Search For New Glen Oaks President

CENTREVILLE, Mich. – Three individuals have been selected as the finalists to be the next President of Glen Oaks Community College.
Glen Oaks Board of Trustees Chairman Bruce Gosling, says the finalists are Dr. Bryan Newton, Dr. Vernon Smith and Dr. Katherine Zatz.
Newton is currently the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services at Wor-Wic Community College in Maryland. He previously served as the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Experience at Aiken Technical College in South Carolina.
Smith currently is the Faculty Fellow at the League for Innovation in the Community College. Smith has served as the Provost and Senior Vice President at the American Public University System.
Zatz is presently a guest faculty at the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Public and Global Affairs.
Previously Zatz served as the Acting President of American Military University/American Public University System.
Gosling says public forums will be taking place with the finalists the week of April 22, and each individual will participate in three open forums. Times for the forums will be the same for each candidate: 9 AM to 10 AM; 12 PM to 1 PM and 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Zatz’s forums will be Monday, April 22. Newton’s on Tuesday, April 23 and Smith’s on Wednesday, April 24.
The forums will be open to all faculty, administrators, staff, students and the general public. They will be held in the Dresser Business Development Auditorium at Glen Oaks, and will consist of a brief introduction of each candidate and then a question and answer session.
