Man Faces a Decade Behind Bars for Meth Charges

AUBURN, IN - An Auburn man now faces 10 years in jail for drug-related charges.

Michael Placencia, age 53, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than five grams of methamphetamine.

Case documents say the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department approached Placencia for stopping traffic by not moving to the far right of the road on September 7th, 2020.

Police checked the VIN number on his moped and learned that it was reported stolen.

Placencia told police he had something illegal on him which turned out to be 11 bags of meth, as well as $674 in cash.
