Arrests Made In March Stabbing Incident In Coldwater

COLDWATER, Mich. – Three people have been arrested and two arraigned in connection with a stabbing incident in Branch County.
On March 1 at 8 p.m., Michigan State Police were sent to a investigate a stabbing that happened between two men in the 200 block of Paradise Island Drive in Coldwater Township. The victim, a 28 year old Ohio man, was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious internal injuries, that required surgery.
The investigation determined that an argument broke out between the victim and a 19 year old Battle Creek man. The victim was stabbed multiple times and tried to defend himself with a pistol, but another individual stopped him. Two Coldwater women helped the suspect flee the scene.
Arrest warrants were issued for the three individuals.
The two women turned themselves in to the Michigan State Police on Monday. Branch County District Court personnel say that 24 year old Oshaegh Ross McAtee and 19 year old Caoimhe Ross McAtee are both charged with accessory after the fact to a felony and obstruction of justice.
The women were arraigned on Monday with bond set at $50,000 each. They are scheduled to have probable cause hearings on April 11 and preliminary examinations on April 16.
Troopers say the 19 year old stabbing suspect was arrested in Battle Creek on Monday and charged with attempted murder. He was transported to Coldwater and is being held in the Branch County Jail.
Their investigation also shows the victim had gone to the home to do repair work, and that he previously dated Oshaegh Ross McAtee. The 19 year old stabbing suspect is her new boyfriend and a fight broke out between the two men.
The male suspect’s name hasn’t been released, since he hasn’t been arraigned.
