Auburn Woman Hits Light Pole Then Flees The Scene

AUBURN - An Auburn woman struck a light pole then fled the scene.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department stated at approximately 2:29 a.m. on Monday, March 25 Natalie R. Kovets, 31, of Auburn was driving eastbound in the 5500 Block of 11a when she left the roadway and struck a light pole.
Kovets was located at her residence with a significant injury and heavy bleeding to her right leg around the knee. She also had injuries to her right hand and stomach area.
She stated that she fell asleep and struck the light pole.
Kovets' vehicle sustained heavy front end damage.
She was transported from her residence to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The crash is under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
