UNDATED - Gas prices across the country and here in the tri-state listening area continue to increase.
According to Gas Buddy's recent findings, gas prices have risen 17 cents per gallon for most of our listening area in the past week. Right now, the average for a gallon of gas is around $2.64.
Experts say last week's extreme cold shut down millions of barrels per day in refinery capacity. That has caused gas prices to rise a lot recently.
During this time last year, gas was 33 cents cheaper at around $2.31 a gallon.
