It was announced on Wednesday that the popular website Amazon has made plans and received approval for a new Delivery Station in Fort Wayne. The facility will occupy a recently built 150,000 square foot building at 8610 Avionics Drive, located near Fort Wayne International Airport.
The building can be expanded to 240,000 square feet if needed in the future and is part of a 20 acre development.
Officials from Amazon announced that the station will create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs, paying a minimum of $15 per hour, and offering a variety of benefits packages “from day one.”
The company says delivery stations also give entrepreneurs the chance to build their own business delivering Amazon packages.
