More than 11-thousand NIPSCO customers were without power at mid-afternoon on Wednesday.
That included 136 in Angola and 136 in Bristol. Over one-thousand customers in the Goshen area were out. The Lagrange County Sheriff’s Office said there were scattered outages with power lines down.
The high wind warning continues until 9 p-m with strong winds diminishing slightly after that, but still in the 45 mph range.
Persons who must drive should be alert to possible downed trees and limbs in roadways along with the possibility of downed power lines.
