Annual Pie Auction Raises 48K and Counting
By: Sheila McCrea - Friday, November 29, 2019

The annual WLKI Cops for Kids Pie Auction raised over 48-thousand dollars on Wednesday, with donations still coming in.

The event is held each to raise money to assist local emergency personal take young people whose families need some extra support on a shopping trip. The kids are able to purchase warm clothes and other items needed to stay warm during the winter months, and get one Christmas present, such as a toy.

Over 137 local businesses, clubs, and other community organizations donated pies to this year‘s event. The pie raising the most money this year was made by a team of employees from Vestil Manufacturing. It was a smoked cheesecake pie that sold for $4000-dollars. The pie was purchased by Vestil's One Team One Mission group.

Donations are still being accepted for the Cops for Kids program. You can make donations through the Steuben County Comunity Foundation, or drop them off at WLKI during regular business hours.

The annual shopping event will take place on December 12.
