Armed Robbery Saturday Night In Putnam County
Monday, November 4, 2019

On Saturday Night around 8:30 P.M., the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to an armed robbery that took place outside a Dollar General store in the village of Columbus Grove.

The assailant, later identified as James M. Phillips took Addie Kiene by gunpoint and made her drive him towards Ottawa in her 2013 Hyndai Sonota.

Phillips immediately took Kiene's cell phone and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash from her. While driving towards Ottawa, Phillips threw Kiene's phone out the window. She was able to convince Phillips to let her out, and he did so on Road 9-K but then later sped away. Kiene was able to flag down a passerby on Ohio State Route 65 for help.

An arrest warrant was issued for Phillips who is still at large, and considered by law enforcement to be armed and dangerous. It is believed that Phillips is in the Toledo area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 419-523-3208.
