Incumbent Democrat Angola Mayor, Richard Hickman gets set to defend the seat he has had since near the beginning of this century on Tuesday, this time against Republican challenger and Angola City Councilman Joe Hysong.
As Hickman at one point decided he was not going to run again and later had a change of heart, he still feels like he has much to accomplish including taking care of the industry already in the city, as well as addressing one major problem in the likes of housing.
For Hysong, he feels the affordable housing issue is the cities top priority, citing that not all of that is in the likes of actual houses but wanting to see more apartment options offered throughout Angola to attract new residents.
Polls across Angola will be open all day Tuesday, with polls closing at 6 P.M. and everyone registered to vote is encouraged to get out and do their part in democratic process. Stay tuned as we will monitor the hotly contested race, and keep you updated as to when an official winner is declared.
