The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified on Sunday evening of the discovery of human remains in a wooded area in Northeast Allen County. The remains are skeletonized and will be recovered through efforts of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office and the University of Indianapolis Anthropology Department.
The remains were reportedly found by persons walking in the wooded area. At this time there is no speculation as to the identity of the remains, or how long they have been in this location, or cause and manner of death. Any additional information will be provided after the collection and examination of the remains.
A police presence will be maintained at the scene, until the collection process has been completed.
