Officials from INDOT Northeast are wanting to pass along an update on a current project. Within Steuben County on on State Route 327, the first coat of asphalt has been placed over the rebuilt road base.
However, this does not mean the road is open for normal traffic flow but actually, the opposite as the asphalt is laid lots of workers will be on the road to get the material down correctly.
Motorists are asked to please continue to use the nearest county road to exit/enter the State Route 327 closure limits and only if you live or work along the road.
As of Tuesday, crew members from INDOT were almost hit twice by vehicles driving on State Route 327 when they should not have been. When traveling to and from a destination, INDOT would like to remind motorists to leave early, follow the detour and please keep travel on State Route 327 minimal while the project continues.
