ELKHART COUNTY – A small plane crashed killing both occupants inside after departing from the Branch County Memorial Airport on Tuesday, April 30.

The small fixed-wing aircraft crashed near Bristol just before 2:20 p.m..

Reports out of South Bend state the plane flew from Elkhart to Coldwater where it landed at 12:22 p.m..

The plane then left the Coldwater airport at around 1:40 p.m. and crashed about 40 minutes later near the Indiana Toll Road.

The names of those killed have not been released.

The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
