Four Fires In Fremomt Over Five Days

FREMONT - The Fremont Fire Department said they battled four separate fires within the town of Fremont over the last five days.

The first fire took place on Thursday, April 19 at 1:44 a.m.

The Fremont Fire was dispatched to Third Street in Fremont on a report of a structure on fire.

Crews arrived on scene and found a house trailer with fire showing.

A hand line was pulled and the fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.

Then on Thursday at 05:30 p.m. a second fire took place.

The Fremont Fire was dispatched to Cold Heading on the report of a furnace on fire that has extended to the ceiling.

Crews remained on scene for an approximately 2 hours before returning to service. No injuries were reported.

The third fire took place on Sunday, April 21 at 04:58 am.

The Fremont Fire was dispatched to PADNOS on the report of a machine on fire.

Crews were on scene for approximately two hours before returning to service. No injuries were reported.

The fourth fire took place on Monday, March 22 at 04:42 p.m. near Clear Lake.

The Fremont Fire was dispatched to 6000 block of North 925 East on the report of a structure fire.

Crews arrived on scene and had a fully involved detached garage and house.

The fire was quickly knocked down, due to the extensive overhaul, crews remained on scene for approximately two hours.  

One female was treated and released at the scene by EMS.

The Fremont Fire Department thanked mutual aid departments out of Angola Fire, Orland Fire, Steuben Twp Fire, Camden Fire in Michigan and Northwest Twp Fire in Ohio.

They also thanked the Steuben County EMS, Fremont Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County REMC, and NIPSCO.
