(COLDWATER) - Some Consumers Energy customers are entering a fifth day without power after weekend storms caused widespread outages across the region.

As of Tuesday morning, Consumers Energy reported 5,388 customers without electricity system-wide.

Kalamazoo County remains the hardest-hit area in the region, with 3,925 customers still without power.

Area outages on Tuesday morning listed 334 without electricity in Hillsdale County, 168 in Branch County and 34 in Calhoun County, and one customer without power in St. Joseph County.

Consumers Energy crews continue working to replace downed poles and tangled wires in complicated repair areas, with the company saying Monday that restoration efforts may not be finished until midweek.

In Steuben County, REMC reported only three customers without power Tuesday morning.
