Republican Caucus Set To Fill DeKalb Commissioner Vacancy

(AUBURN) - A Republican caucus to fill the vacant DeKalb County Commissioner West District seat is scheduled for June 15 at 6 p.m. at Kruse Plaza in Auburn.

The Star Newspaper reports candidates seeking the appointment must be qualified Republican voters who live within the DeKalb County Commissioner West District.

Prospective candidates must file Form CEB-5 with DeKalb County Republican Chairman Richard Ring no later than 6 p.m. on June 12, which is 72 hours before the caucus.

The form is available through the Indiana Secretary of State's office, the DeKalb County Clerk's Office, or DeKalb Republican Headquarters.

The appointment will fill the remainder of the term, which expires December 31, 2026.

Only Republican precinct committeemen are eligible to vote in the caucus. A vice precinct committeeman may serve as a proxy only for the same precinct.
