(FORT WAYNE) - Steel Dynamics reported record profit and steel shipments in its latest quarterly results.
The Fort Wayne-based company posted net income of $403 million on $5.2 billion in sales during the first quarter of 2026.
The company shipped a record 3.6 million tons of steel during the quarter, with officials citing stronger demand and higher steel prices.
Steel Dynamics says demand increased across several sectors, including construction, automotive, energy, and manufacturing.
The company also reported improved order backlogs and said market conditions are expected to remain strong through 2026.
