(LAGRANGE) - Ten local nonprofits are getting a major boost this fall as the LaGrange County Community Foundation awards $110,000 in Community Impact Grants to support health services, student career training, food assistance, emergency equipment, and more.
The largest grants include $25,000 to Lakeland School Corporation to launch a new countywide electrical and industrial maintenance career pathway for students, and $15,000 to the Community Health Clinic in Shipshewana to expand early intervention occupational therapy for children in the Plain Community.
Other funded projects range from park improvements and crisis shelter repairs to food support, youth programming, science outreach, and community arts performances.
Foundation leaders say the grants reflect strong local partnerships and directly strengthen families, students, and community services across LaGrange County.
Donors can still triple their impact through a year-end matching opportunity that could bring an additional $525,000 to the county if fundraising goals are met by Dec. 31.
