(SHIPSHEWANA) - Visit Shipshewana has been named the 2026 Midwest Travel Network Destination of the Year.
The award recognizes destinations that go above and beyond in working with Midwest Travel Network content creators. Visit Shipshewana was recognized for hosting eight content creators from the network over the past year and for continuing to build relationships with travel writers, bloggers, photographers, videographers and social media storytellers.
Midwest Travel Network noted that content creators continue to talk about Shipshewana and their experiences, encouraging others to learn more about the destination. The organization also recognized Visit Shipshewana CEO Sonya Nash and her team for understanding the value of partnering with creators and building lasting relationships with them.
Nash said the recognition is an honor for the team and the community. She said the partnerships help introduce new visitors to Shipshewana in a personal and authentic way.
This marks the second time Visit Shipshewana has received the Destination of the Year honor. The destination previously won in 2024.
In 2024, Shipshewana hosted the Midwest Travel Network Annual Conference, welcoming travel writers, bloggers and social media influencers to experience local businesses, dining, entertainment, cultural experiences and small-town hospitality.
Visit Shipshewana says it will continue working with travel writers, influencers, photographers, videographers and content creators to share stories that inspire visitors to explore Shipshewana and the surrounding Amish Country region.
