(BAHAMAS) - U.S. investigators are expected to seek permission from Bahamian officials to begin a new search for a missing Lenawee County woman who disappeared in the Bahamas earlier this spring.

Fifty-six-year-old Lynette Hooker vanished April 4 under what authorities have described as mysterious circumstances.

Reports say the planned search would focus on areas of Caribbean waters not previously searched. Investigators reportedly identified the new location using GPS data recovered from an electronic device belonging to Lynette Hooker's husband, 59-year-old Brian Hooker.

Brian Hooker told investigators the couple had been on a late-night boat ride in rough water when Lynette Hooker fell overboard.

Authorities initially took Brian Hooker into custody shortly after his wife was reported missing. He has since been released while the investigation continues.
