(INDIANAPOLIS) - Applications are being accepted for the Indiana State Police 91st Recruit Academy for lateral applicants.
The agency says current law enforcement officers interested in becoming Indiana State Troopers must apply online through IndianaTrooper.com.
Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 11th.
Indiana State Police says applicants must be United States citizens, at least 21 years old and younger than 40 at the time of appointment, possess a valid driver's license, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
Current law enforcement officers applying for the lateral academy must have at least three continuous years of full-time merit law enforcement service by January 17, 2027.
The agency says officers who successfully complete the academy will be allowed to choose their district assignment.
Indiana State Police highlighted several benefits tied to the position, including a take-home patrol vehicle after field training, more than 40 paid leave days annually, health, dental, and vision insurance, pension benefits, and paid physical training time.
The department also says recruits may qualify for federal public service student loan forgiveness programs.
