Steuben County Primary Results Finalized Following Busy Election Night

Steuben County Republicans gathered after polls closed at Sutton's 160 Public

(STEUBEN COUNTY) - Official results are now in from Steuben County's 2026 Primary Election, with several closely watched Republican races decided Tuesday night.

In the race for Steuben County Sheriff, Chris Emerick defeated Mike Meeks, receiving 3,131 votes to Meeks' 1,763.

Tracy Quinn won the Republican primary for Prosecuting Attorney of the 85th Circuit, finishing with 2,748 votes. Stephanie Hamilton received 1,623 votes, while Angela Saalfrank Hendrickson received 410.

In another closely watched Republican race, Colt Ridenour defeated Jim Slabaugh, receiving 2,923 votes to Slabaugh's 1,659.

In Indiana House District 51, incumbent Tony Isa defeated Theresa Steele in Steuben County by a margin of 2,572 votes to 1,219.

In Indiana House District 52, incumbent Ben Smaltz defeated challenger Eve Peters, 664 votes to 218.

In Indiana's 3rd Congressional District Republican primary, incumbent Marlin Stutzman carried Steuben County with 3,198 votes, defeating challenger Jon Kenworthy, who received 1,418.

Other countywide Republican races included:

  • Travis Musser running unopposed for Judge of the Superior Court with 3,941 votes
  • Michelle "Shelley" Herbert unopposed for Circuit Court Clerk with 3,892 votes
  • Kelli Wilder Johnson unopposed for County Auditor with 3,815 votes
  • Kimberly Anderson unopposed for County Assessor with 3,860 votes
  • Andy Laughlin unopposed for County Commissioner North District with 3,879 votes

Steuben County reported 5,811 total ballots cast, with voter turnout at 23.36 percent. All 50 precincts reported results.
