(INDIANA) - Early voting is now underway statewide for the May 5th primary election.

Beginning today, April 7th, eligible voters can cast an in-person absentee ballot at their county election office or other designated satellite locations. State election officials say early voting gives Hoosiers added flexibility to avoid long lines and work voting into busy schedules.

Voters are urged to check with their local county election office for specific dates, hours and satellite voting sites, since those can vary by county.

To vote, Hoosiers must bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

Early voting continues through noon on Monday, May 4th, the day before the primary election.
