(DELTON) - In Michigan, one of the men acquitted in the alleged plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer is now running to replace her. Forty-three-year-old William Null of Delton has officially filed paperwork to seek the Republican nomination for governor in 2026. Null submitted his campaign finance statement this week and says he doesn't plan to raise or spend more than a thousand dollars -- meaning he's also applying for a reporting waiver. His campaign treasurer is Eric Molitor -- who, like Null, was also acquitted in the high-profile case. Null hasn't released any campaign platform yet, but his entry into the race is drawing attention across Michigan politics.
