(PIONEER) - The Pioneer Police Department has promoted School Resource Officer Stephanie Mills to the rank of sergeant.
Police officials say Mills has made a significant impact both within North Central Local Schools and across the community. In addition to her duties as a school resource officer, she has taken on responsibilities including evidence management and has completed advanced training for school-based policing.
Mills has also helped launch several programs aimed at encouraging positive student behavior, including the "Golden Eagle" initiative, which recognizes school staff members who make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Her promotion was formally confirmed during a Village Council meeting, where Mayor Ed Kidston presented her with the new rank.
Police leadership praised Mills for her dedication to service and commitment to the department and community.
