(ANGOLA) - Indiana students planning careers in law enforcement will again have an opportunity to receive college financial assistance through a statewide scholarship program announced by Steuben County Sheriff Rodney Robinson.

The Indiana Sheriffs' Association will award approximately 40 scholarships valued at $1,000 each to qualified high school seniors and college students pursuing degrees in criminal justice or related law enforcement fields.

The scholarships are funded through the Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship Fund, which was established to support students committed to education and careers in law enforcement by helping offset college expenses.

Applicants must be Indiana residents and either be members of the Indiana Sheriffs' Association or the dependent child or grandchild of a current member. Students must attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field, and be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Applications are available through high school guidance counselors, local sheriff's offices, or as a fillable PDF on the Indiana Sheriffs' Association website.

Completed applications must be received by the Indiana Sheriffs' Association on or before April 1.
