(ANGOLA) - Trine University has welcomed Justin Weber as its new executive director of student success, bringing to the role a strong background in teaching, school leadership and student-centered innovation.

In his new position, Weber oversees departments within the Office of Student Success and leads the administration of developmental and academic success services across the university. His work focuses on strengthening student retention through early intervention strategies, personalized outreach and the identification and removal of barriers to student achievement.

"Justin's background includes successfully optimizing and enhancing the student experience, and we're excited to have him do the same at Trine University," said Amy Heavin, assistant dean for academics. "His collaborative approach with students, educators, administrators and the community makes him an ideal fit for this role."

Before joining Trine, Weber served as assistant principal at Garrett High School, where he managed discipline and attendance for more than 550 students. He also played a key role in establishing and expanding Career and Technical Education programs at the school.

Earlier in his career, Weber spent nine years as a teacher and coach at Wawasee, Twin Lakes and Garrett high schools. During that time, he consistently earned highly effective teaching ratings and coached athletic teams to championship success.

"In my work as a local educator and school administrator, I was well aware of the great things Trine University is doing," Weber said. "I'm proud to be part of this university and its mission, and to contribute to the continued success of Trine students."

Weber holds a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from Manchester College and a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in educational leadership from Ball State University.
