Appleton Tapped as Next Head Boys Basketball Coach at Angola

ANGOLA, IN - The Metropolitan Schools of Steuben County have approved the hiring of Brandon Appleton as the next Head Varsity Boys’ Basketball coach at Angola High School.

Appleton has been the Varsity Girls’ Basketball coach at the high school for the past six years. During that time he has a record of 111-40 with two regular season NECC titles and two conference tourney titles. In the 2018-2019 season the team won a Sectional title, only two in program history, and eventually were defeated in overtime by Marion in the Regional Final.

This year Appleton was named IBCA District 1 Coach of the Year and was also named an assistant coach to the Junior Girl’s Indiana All-Star team.
Appleton is a graduate of Trine University where he played basketball, football, and tennis. He and his wife Sarah have two boys, Cain and Bryce. A news release from Angola High School said the Appleton family currently lives in the Auburn area, but are actively looking for a home in the Angola area.
