Steuben County Declares Public Health Order for Community Building

ANGOLA - The Steuben County Health Department has declared a public order.

In a news release, officials say “due to a national emergency being declared by the President of the United States in regards to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and a declaration of public health emergency for coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak was made by Governor Eric J. Holcomb, Steuben County's Health Officer, Dr. Ted J. Crisman MD, with the support of Steuben County Board of Health is declaring the order. The move mandates that all individuals wear a mask while inside of the Steuben County Community Center.

Located at 317 South Wayne Street in Angola, the Steuben County Community Center, houses a majority of local government offices and meetings. The order is in effect, without a specific expiration date, until it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Dr. Crisman, Steuben County Health Officer.

Dr, Crisman says he will continue to carefully monitor the evolving situation and will periodically revise the order as he sees conditions warrant to protect the public and limit the spread of the virus.

The face covering mandate for the Steuben County Community Center went into effect July 22nd, 2020, at 12:01 a.m.
