Ohio Woman Ordered To Pay Restitution To Girl Scouts

A Bryan, Ohio woman was ordered to pay over $1,100 in restitution on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after she entered guilty pleas to taking money from four local bank accounts that belonged to the Girls Scouts of America.

36-year-old Kathy Jo Contreras admitted her guilt to charges of attempted forgery, attempted uttering and publishing and attempted identify theft. A total of 33 charges were dismissed by Branch County Prosecutor's Office in exchange for her guilty pleas.

Contreras will have to be on probation for two years, and was given an 11 month jail sentence with credit for 82 days already served. The jail time was suspended over probation.

Along with the restitution, Contreras will have to pay over $1,800 in fines and court costs. Contreras was charged and arrested following a Michigan State Police investigating.
