Popular Tri-State Area Toboggan Run Opens Today
Friday, November 29, 2019
A popular tri-state region winter time fun stop is set to open up today.
Pokagon State Park is home to the area's only refrigerated toboggan run, and today the 30-foot tall tower that sends riders swooping down two icy tracks over a quarter-mile course will open its doors for all to come conquer. Officials say the record speed for a tobogganer down the course is 42 miles per hour.
The run opens for business today at 10:30 a.m., and will operate through March 1st, 2020.
Sleds are rented at a fee of $13 per hour, and only park-supplied sleds are allowed. The rental charge is in addition to park entrance fees which sit at $7 for an in-state vehicle, and $9 for out-of-state vehicles. Up to four people may ride at a time and there are no set age or height restrictions.
