Former Quincy Man Charged With Sexual Assault

A sex crime case involving a former Quincy resident who was found in Texas has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court as 31-year-old Thomas James Stump was originally charged with two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Officials with Branch County District Court say one charge was dropped on Tuesday, however two additional charges of distributing sexually explicit material to a minor and assault with intent to commit second degree criminal sexual conduct were added following a nearly 90 minute preliminary exam.

According to court documents, the alleged incidents took place between December of 2017 and April of 2018.

The alleged victims were two females under the age of 13 at the time. Stump is now scheduled to be arraigned in Branch County Circuit Court November 18, 2019.
