Youth Substance Abuse Program
Thursday, May 16, 2024

The Defiance County Health Department will visit Defiance Public Library, 320 Fort St., on May 16 to teach parents, educators, and caregivers about the dangers and signs of youth substance abuse, as well as how to talk to children about the subject.

The program, “Hidden in Plain Sight,” will take place from 5:30-6:30p.m. in the Nellie Gary Reading Room. It is free and open to all adults (no youth, please). No registration is needed.

During the program, Taylor Jessing, MPH, CHES, health promotion specialist at the Defiance County Health Department will discuss drug culture and show examples of drug paraphernalia and items used to conceal substance abuse.

This program is regularly updated by the Health Department with the latest information related to substances local youth are using.

For more information, contact the library at 419-782-1456.
