Anniversary of 1974 Super Out real Tornados

On this day in weather history, on April 3-4, 1974, 148 tornadoes touched down over the eastern third of the United States, which was dubbed the Super Outbreak.

315 people were killed, 6,124 people were injured, and over 27,500 families had some sort of loss.

Damage was estimated at $600 million.
