Branch County Hit Hard by Friday Night Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms moved through most parts of the tri-state area Friday night, and one of the hardest hit areas was in Michigan’s Branch County.

In Quincy, there were several damage reports including uprooted and downed trees and powerlines. Several uprooted trees were reported on Williams Drive in Quincy. The Quincy Golf Course sustained significant damage.

Some areas in Branch County had property damage, including instances in which trees crashed into buildings and homes.

At one point late Friday night, the Consumers Energy outage map indicated that several thousand customers in the Village of Quincy and surrounding townships were without power.

Marble Lake in Branch County was another area hit hard where residents had several trees that were knocked down by the strong winds onto campers and buildings. Several docks were also damaged.

No injuries have been reported from Friday nights storm.
