AUBURN, IN - A branch of the Ku Klux Klan is planning a meeting in Auburn this weekend.
The alleged Klan event is being billed as the “Indiana White Unity Meet and Greet” set for Saturday. The group did not release a location for the meeting. They say it will be in a central location in Auburn.
Since talk of the Klan emerged, city officials in Auburn are calling for “love and compassion” to block out hate.
As word of the event swirls, a counter group called the Indiana Mutual Aid Coalition plans a Day of Solidarity gathering at the DeKalb County Courthouse on Saturday afternoon. The Coalition calls the gathering an assembly of people networking against racial injustice and hate.
