Injury Crash In Waterloo Sends On to the Hospital

One man is hurt and went to the hospital after a semi-truck crash in Waterloo.
Investigative reports indicate that a van was going south on 27 when it reached the stop sign. It all happened at the intersection of U.S. 6 and County Road 27 Thursday evening around 5:30 p.m.
Authorities say that the driver, Jack Kimmel age 48 of Ashley, failed to yield to the oncoming semi and the two crashed. The semi was traveling west on U.S. 6 when the driver, Gerald Jarnecke, age 51 of Hanna (Indiana) was unable to stop in time before hitting Kimmel in the driver’s side rear panel.
Kimmel complained of neck pain and was taken to the hospital.
Police said that Jarnecke did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
