An accusation has been made by a victim 21 years after the fact.
The Williams County Sheriff's Office says that a woman called the Williams County Sheriff’s Office to report she was assaulted by a supervisor at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, back in 1997.
Investigative reports indicate that it was confirmed that the victim was talking about an incident that involved Jeffrey Corbett. Corbett was the supervisor of the jail between 1990 and 1998.
Corbett was charged with seven counts of sexual battery involving five inmates at the jail. He was convicted in April 2000 and served 18 months in prison with 10 more years on the state’s sex offender registry.
Corbett died in Toledo on March 17, 2015, after a short bout with cancer.
Investigators say there really isn’t much that can be done since he served time and has since died.
