Three Sturgis Children Found Safe After Amber Alert

Three children from Sturgis who were the subject of a multi-state AMBER Alert Thursday morning were found safe and unarmed.

Early Thursday morning the an AMBER Alert was issed for the three children who were believed to be abducted by their father, 37-year-old Fernando Cruz of Sturgis, MI.

Sturgis police said Cruz took off with the kids after a domestic dispute between he and the children's mother at their home. He reportedly said that he was going to harm himself and his children.

During the search for Cruz, he was reportedly seen at one point in Fremont, IN near the Indiana/Michigan border.

At around 9 a.m. Thursday morning, Sturgis police said Fernando Cruz was taken into custody in Sturgis and the children were safe.
