DeKalb Central officials respond publically to a threat to DeKalb Middle School.
According to a post on the DeKalb Middle School Facebook page Monday morning, DeKalb Middle School officials became aware of a threat directed towards the middle school late Friday. School officials responded immediately and involved law enforcement.
School officials say that the threat was investigated and determined to not be credible and ended up being a false reporting.
Law enforcement officials will work Monday to hold those who reported this false rumor accountable. As a precautionary measure the 6-12 campus will see an increase in security measures.
The district says that they will continue encourage students that "if you hear or see something, you say something".
DeKalb school officials said that all threats are taken seriously and will be investigated to the fullest extent and those responsible will be held accountable.
