SPENCERVILLE, IN - Two men were hurt after an SUV and a tractor collided Wednesday night.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department said that emergency crews responded to the 6200 block of State Road 1 just before 9 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a crash.

Reports indicate that an SUV driven by Todd Papenbrock, age 43 of Leo, Indiana was headed south on State Road 1 when he crested the top of a hill. Papenbrock told authorities that he did not see a tractor, being driven by Dustin Buckhardt, age 23 of St. Joe, Indiana, until it was to late to avoid the collision.

Investigative reports said that Buckhardt was thrown to the ground when Papenbrock's SUV re-ended the tractor he was on.

Papenbrock had a cut on his head and complained of head and chest pain. Buckhardt had road rash and cuts on his body.

Assisting the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department at the accident scene was DeKalb County EMS and the Southeast Fire Department.
