You may remember us talking to Grace Johnson and Emily McCrea last week. The two girls are 11-year-olds from Steuben County, who are in their 6th year of hosting "Little John's Lemonade Stand". The yearly lemonade stand has helped local kids who are battling cancer.
The pair held their event last Saturday at Lake Gage, where they raised a record-breaking $12,411.75 to help Olivia Stoy of Angola. Their total got even bigger thanks to an anonymous donor who would match what they raised up to $10,000. The generous contribution brought the final total of, $22,411.75.
The girls, along with family and friends, area Legion riders, and yearly visitors have now raised well over $40-thousand dollars in the last six years for local kids like Olivia Stoy, Hudson Bice, Isabelle Bryan, Canton Gillette, and lemonade stand namesake John Stukey - all youngsters who have battled cancer.
Grace and Emily will be at Angola Balloons Aloft Friday night helping raise money for another youngster, Nash Deveau, who is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer. The young ladies will be at Angola Balloons Aloft starting at around 5 p.m. Friday night.
For a donation of any amount, you can help them fight cancer one glass at a time.
