The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction on I-69 over Pigeon Creek, in Steuben County, on Thursday, July 5, weather permitting. A concrete deck overlay will take place between County Road S 325 West and Fox Lake Road.
Motorists can expect to see heavy equipment placing a temporary barrier wall in preparation for the project. A 45 mph speed limit, when flashing, will be strictly enforced.
INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
INDOT also urges boaters to follow any posted signs, as waterway restrictions may be needed while contractors complete bridge rehabilitation underneath the structure.
Restrictions on the I-69 bridge over the Pigeon Creek will remain through the end of the year.
The contract was awarded to R.L. McCoy for $3.9 million.
