Do to the continued power outage effecting the Metz and Hamilton area, a warming and medical device power station has been set up at the Metz Fire Department. Randy Brown, Steuben County Emergency Management Director, says that those affected may be take their medical items to the Metz Fire Department to power-up the devices and to get out of the cold until their power is restored.

Brown advises that anyone who is running low on oxygen supplies should call their provider. He explains that a persons oxygen equipment provider is the only one who can get you more supplies.

Brown also reminds area residents that 9-1-1 should only be called if there is a medical, fire or police emergency.

Although a power outage can be frustrating and inconvenient, residents should call you their power company for questions about when you power will be restored, and 9-1-1 should NOT be called for those types of service questions.

A call to 9-1-1 should only be for an emergency, not general questions.

As for a restoration time for power up for residents in and around Hamilton and Metz... American Electric Power is advising that electricity will not be restored before midnight.
