Northwest Ohio Unemployment Rates Going Down

Unemployment rates are going down in the Buckeye state, and in northwest Ohio.

The statewide unemployment rate in Ohio was 8.9% in July 2020, down from 11% in June. In Williams County, the jobless rate improved from 9% in June to 7.4% in July. The rate was 3.6% in July 2019.

The trend was the same around the four-county area in Ohio, including Defiance (9.8% in June to 7.5% in July), Fulton (9.3% to 7.1%) and Henry (9.4% to 7.4%).

Across the state, the industries with the greatest increases in jobs were leisure and hospitality.
