Totals Now Stand At 24 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases In Indiana

The number of presumptive positive novel coronavirus cases in Indiana increased by five Monday morning. According to Indiana State Health Department officials publicly release new data on any positive tests daily at 10 a.m.

On Sunday, Indiana Health officials previously said the number of positive cases in Indiana jumped to 19, and the number of tested was at 121. Monday morning, however, that number was at 24 total positive cases, with 139 patients tested.

The new cases involve residents of Bartholomew, Floyd, Hendricks, Howard and Marion counties. An unidentified person from Wells County has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

There are two other positive cases in northeast Indiana - one in Noble County and another in Adams County.

One case reported from a surrounding county had been a short-term resident of Allen County for several weeks and was exposed and diagnosed in Allen County.

Despite the Indiana Department of Health stating there are no positive cases in Steuben County based on their criteria, local health officials say we should remain vigilant. No one has died from the virus in Indiana.
