A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the tri-state region until the early portions of this afternoon, as over-night snow has left several area roadways snow and possibly slick and several schools on delay today.
According to the National Weather Service the winter weather advisory will remain in effect until 1 P.M. as the potential for more light accumulating snow will linger on through the morning and early afternoon before a drastic temperature drop expected over the course of the day going from the low 30s, down into the mid to high teens.
The bitter cold will not last long as after a frigid Friday, temperatures will warm up for the weekend as highs for Saturday and Sunday will reach back up into the low to mid 30s, with partly cloudy skies.
