Christmas Eve Incident on I-69 Sends Michigan Man To Hospital

On Christmas Eve, at approximately 11:38 P.M. crews from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department were dispatched and arrived on scene at I-69 Northbound near mile marker 338. It is there that they found a vehicle that had gone off the roadway and into the ditch. A call came into 911, believed to be the driver's child, stated that the driver was unresponsive. A passerby stopped to assist in the situation and removed the driver from the vehicle.

The driver, 39-year-old Justin Wolford of Bronson, Michigan was then transported to Parkview DeKalb Hospital and later transferred to Parkview Regional Medical Center for further treatment where his present condition is unknown at this time.

Wolford's vehicle, a black Jeep Wrangler did not strike any objects and no further damage was suffered.

Assisting at the scene were the Waterloo Marshal's Department, Butler Police Department, Ashley Fire Rescue, and Parkview Paramedics.
