Charges Filed Against Woman For Taking Girl Scout Money

An Ohio woman is facing 33 charges after she allegedly took money from four bank accounts that belong to Girl Scouts Of America.

In a media release the Branch County Prosecutor's Office says 36 year old
Kathy Jo Contreras of Bryant, Ohio was arraigned in Branch County District Court on Saturday on 11 counts each of forgery, identity theft and uttering and publishing.

Michigan State Police started an investigation in May of 2019 and an arrest warrant was issued in October. It is alleged that Contreras withdrew a total of $1,280 from the accounts on 11 different occasions but did not have authorization to do so.

Bond was set for Contreras at $25,000. She is scheduled to have a preliminary examination January 7th.
