Northeast Indiana Company Makes Major Announcement
By: Sheila McCrea - Friday, December 6, 2019

A Northeast Indiana Company has made a major announcement in regards to solar power.

Covington Box and Packing has approved an investment into a “solar field” at their plant in the town of Waterloo, Indiana. Company officials say they put the plan in motion to “offset 100% of their annual electrical usage”.

Covington is already a large recycler. The company says the new 1.25 acres of “solar field” panels will further their commitment to being a “green” company. Now that the installation of solar panels is complete, the next step will be installing a transformer and running electric lines to the building.

The project completion date is estimated before the start of the 2020 new year.
